The Black Alumni Group of the Southern Illinois University Alumni Association

Dear Fellow Alums & Friends:

On behalf of The Black Alumni Group of the Southern Illinois University Alumni Association, I welcome you to our website.

The SIU Alumni Association was founded in 1896 by a group of graduating students who wanted to continue their involvement with SIU.  Today, the AA consists of alumni, students and friends that are proud to be Salukis!  SIU has more than 200,000 alumni in every state of our nation and in more than 120 countries. 

The Black Alumni Group was established in 1988 as an official AA affiliate.  BAG’s purpose is to keep alive professional, social and educational relationships developed within SIU’s Black community.  A few of the programs your BAG membership  (enter Y8AACDBGPR as the Source Code) supports include:

Biennially, in odd-numbered years, BAG hosts a reunion on the third weekend in July.  A myriad of social, educational and athletic events are scheduled during the reunion weekend along with a business meeting and the election of officers.  In 2005, we had discounted registration for BAG members for the first time. 

BAG members receive the Southern Alumni magazine on a quarterly basis, which features alumni accomplishments and keeps you in touch with SIU.  Twice per year, BAG members receive the Saluki Pride newsletter, which will keep you abreast of upcoming events and issues.  And, of course, as a BAG member, you will enjoy the benefits of savings on SIU-imprinted apparel, car rentals, motel rooms, restaurant specials and more.
